Issues
Environment/Public Lands—My love of Wyoming 's wide open spaces comes from growing up on Wild Horse Creek in Campbell County . One reason we live in Wyoming is to enjoy the outdoors. Protecting air quality, water quality, wildlife and access to public lands is essential!
I support some increased funding for the wildlife trust fund so that its board can do more to protect and develop wildlife habitat in Wyoming.
With 16 years of experience in environment and natural resources law, I would bring a unique perspective to the state legislature
Economic Development—The time to invest in Wyoming 's future is now! We need sustainable development that creates livable wage jobs and enhances our communities. Quality childcare is an economic issue. We cannot strengthen our workforce or attract families to Wyoming without affordable, quality childcare.
Healthcare-- The lack of affordable and accessible health care is a daily source of stress for many in our district. We can solve this problem by supporting programs that attract healthcare professionals to our state and by looking for creative solutions to provide coverage for our citizens.
Education—As the mother of three elementary school students, I have a very personal stake in the future of education in our state. We need to explore new ways to enhance our children's education and to promote true lifelong learning. Our obligation begins with assuring early childhood development and continues through high school, college and beyond with workforce training.
Right to Bear Arms —My husband is a hunter and a gun owner. As a legislator, I will defend his rights and the rights of all Wyoming citizens under the Second Amendment.
Public Employees—For seven years, I served Wyoming as a public employee. My husband is a state employee. I understand the frustrations public employees have with the system. Never doubt my commitment to being a strong advocate for public employees.
Meth-- The meth problem in Cheyenne and in Wyoming is frightening—particularly to me and other parents. Prevention is the first line of defense. The second is to make sure that early and adequate treatment is available. We must have adequate enforcement resources to protect the public health and safety.
Seniors—I have knocked on the doors of many seniors in District 11. Seniors' concern over identity theft is an issue that requires the attention of the Legislature. We need to look at property tax relief for Seniors who require assistance as well as healthcare insurance costs for retired public employees.
